Grammy Magic: Burna Boy

Grammy Magic: Burna Boy Makes History with Afrobeats Extravaganza Featuring Brandy and 21 Savage!

The Nigerian musician Burna Boy

accomplished something very remarkable on Sunday night at the Grammy Awards. He performed at the annual festival for the first time as an Afrobeats musician at the age of 32. Because he was on stage alongside 21 Savage and Brandy, the show was much more thrilling.

They sang along to Burna Boy’s song “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” which features 21 Savage and a sample of Brandy’s 1998 smash song “Top of the World.” With dancers dressed in traditional Nigerian garb, Burna Boy opened the show singing his song “On Form” while sporting a stylish red jacket and light blue pants. Then, he dominated the stage with his hit song “City Boys,” dancing briskly and bringing vivid colors to the production.

Brandy emerged with great fanfare, emerging from the top of the steps, performing a portion of her hit song “Top of the World,” wearing an all-black ensemble and red knee-high boots. A stunning all-red leather jacket and jeans were worn by 21 Savage, who also contributed a line to Burna Boy’s “Sittin’ on Top of the World.”

For all three performers, the show was a significant occasion. It was also Brandy’s first time back at the Grammys in several years, and it was 21 Savage’s first time rapping on the Grammy stage.

Raj Kapoor, executive producer

of the Grammy Awards, revealed the thrilling details of the trio’s performance earlier this week. Lil Durk and J. Cole’s “All My Life” defeated Burna Boy and 21 Savage in the race for Best Melodic Rap Performance. Burna Boy received a nod too.
